Marcy Cruz is a New York City-based freelance writer, body positive advocate, fit model and educator. Her blog, Fearlessly Just Me, is the go-to blog for women seeking inspiration in fashion, body confidence, traveling, self care and more. Marcy shares her journey in conquering her fears, living life fully and venturing outside of her comfort zone as a woman who is above a size 22 and over the age of 40.
Named one of the “11 Bloggers Inspiring The Body Positive Movement” by BodyPositivity.com, she offers a unique voice in the industry as having worked on the corporate side of fashion for eight years at fullbeauty, two years on the Full Figured Fashion Week production team and currently in her role as Blog Editor for PLUS Model Magazine. She also works for Gwynnie Bee as a First Fit Reviewer/Model, where Marcy has connected with women, seeking fashion advice and inspiration to try new styles.
In October 2012, Marcy’s short story about traveling as a plus size woman was published in the book “Hot and Heavy: Fierce Fat Girls on Life, Love & Fashion“. She has also been quoted in Louise Green’s book titled Big Fit Girl, that was released in 2017 by Greystone Books.
From creating opportunities for underrepresented bodies to have more visibility with The Lookbook Project to modeling in body positive campaigns such as SmartGlamour’s #Imflattered viral campaign, Shape Magazine’s Love My Shape feature and Big Fig Mattress’ recent marketing campaign, Marcy continues to push the message that we are all beautiful and worthy of being seen.
Marcy looks forward to continuing to use her voice and pen to empower women everywhere to love themselves at any size, be fearless and live their best lives. Her workshop Becoming Fearlessly Just You will be hitting the road in 2018, visiting 5 cities in the United States and Canada.
