What are you most passionate about?
I am very passionate about educating children….I believe that the early years in a child’s educational arena sets their foundation for that thirst of knowledge. I believe EVERY child is gifted….it just takes a little time to unwrap their gift. I believe with the love and support of a great teacher..anything is possible…I strive to inspire….to motivate…and to encourage children daily.

Who or what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is seeing students I taught want more from education…..whether its through college or just finding a career path that they can grow with. My joy comes from seeing others happy and willing to help others.

What or who are you most appreciative for?
I am most appreciative for my parents instilling in me the value of family and people in general..my father used to say be careful of the bridges you burn…you may need to cross them again..They taught me that the janitor or custodian is just as important as the CEO. But most of all they instilled in me that even if no one else believes in me…the only belief that matters about me is mines!

How do you remain true to yourself and others? I think I remind true to myself is by loving the woman that I am…every inch and every curve…the woman God created me to be and realizing that I am who God says I am. I remain true to others by 1st being true to myself and being honest with others…ans most of all living a person exactly where they are and who they are.

I am passionate about encouraging others to be accepting and confident in who they are, regardless of their size or style. Being comfortable with the way I look is something I have always struggled with in my youth, and it wasn't until recently that I've begun to really embrace who I am and really rock my style. I love the people I get to really connect and bond  with over plus size fashion and I love being able to give them pointers on good clothing stores or vendors that I have personal experience with. My mom is an amazing woman whom I have to thank for enabling me to come out of my shell and really take on a new attitude about dressing at my size. It started with me borrowing her clothes from stores like Torrid and The Avenue, and I just took off from there. The main way I remain true, not only to myself, but to others as well is by maintaining a positive outlook on myself and others regardless of what is said or done by anyone trying to bring me down. Keeping my chin up and always be there for reassurance when my family and friends need it the most is how I stay true.

  6. 1) Lately I have been passionate on finding myself because it does mean a lot. I have gotten to that point where I know I can do better and want to do something I enjoy. So I want something new that I can fall in love with. Other than that, music is my other passion.
    2) My boyfriend makes me happy. We been together for two years now and he has broken through a wall to get to me and show me what love is again.
    3) I am most appreciative of life in general. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety in October after I almost tried to committ suicide. Being pulled from that dark place makes you appreciate life and the people in it.
    4) I remain true to myself by not letting what others think bother me. People tend to change due to surroundings, mainly people. I do not let it influence me or the way I think of myself. Its too much work to lie to someone else because eventually you’ll be lying to yourself.

    1. What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about mental health awareness advocacy and self love/selfcare.
    2. Who or what makes you happy?
God, my husband and children and writing. I’ve been writing for over 20 years and I get a sense of elation every time I pick up a pen.
    3. What or who are you most appreciative for?
My life. I have weathered a lot of storms and struggles; I was even suicidal at some point. The fact that I’m still here, flourishing and blessed with my family is something I celebrate daily.
    4. How do you remain true to yourself and others?
By remaining humble and authentic. I never try to be someone I’m not and I recognize that any talent I have is truly a gift from the Most High. Whenever I’m exchanging energy with another person I do my best to acknowledge the greatness within them; and encourage them to be the best version of themselves they can be.

  8. (1)I am most passionate about family and creating a life full of opportunities for my kids. (2)Life in Atlanta has been good for them and has been a continuous source of happiness for me and,of course, a daily dose of chocolate adds Joy to my day. (3) I am most appreciative for my tribe of influencers that are making a positive impact on the world and inspire me to grow. Because of them I have a chance to live and be my true authentic self. (4) My circle accepts me flaws and all and that is a wonderful gift to receive.

    1. What are you most passionate about?
I am extremely passionate about remaining mentally sound/healthy. As a woman especially an African American woman we go through so much from being overly sexualized to having to play the “independent black woman figure” we lose ourselves.

    2. Who or what makes you happy?
My daughter makes me so happy. I had my daughter the summer after I graduated college and I’d just got broken up with by my boyfriend whom I was with for the past five years. So I was suffering from the mommy blues, post-grad depression, and post-breakup depression it was very traumatic for me. My daughter literally changed all of that. Her smiles, her laughter, her pure joy to see me helped me realize I could just be sad I had to get my mental health in order for her. So I did just that and seeing her cute little face smiling at me everyday makes me so happy and keeps me going.
    3. What or who are you most appreciative for?
Believe it or not right now in my life I am most appreciative of God removing me from the relationship with my ex. He was my first EVERYTHING, all I knew was him. In my spirit I felt that we needed to break up, but it was comfortable so I stayed put. At first it was devastating we were together for five years! He is the father of my child. In hindsight I realized I was just way to comfortable. I stopped dressing up, stopping doing my make up, overall I just stopped investing in myself because I was investing in him. Now I’m so appreciate because I was forced to realize I’m a boss! I deserve to be more than just comfortable. Now I’m about to get my masters degree and I’m just glowing brighter.
    4. How do you remain true to yourself and others?
The first step in my opinion is meditation. You need alone time with yourself to discover and truly understand who you are and what you like to remain true to yourself and others. Whatever is healthy and makes me feel good is what I’ll do. If I want to ride bikes one day or be my plus-sized self in a crop top the next day I’ll do just that. If you don’t like it you can kick rock, but if you do feel free to join me and we can enjoy it together.
